Index Astartes: Ordos Xenos
Lexicanum Arkio has scaled the ranks of his fellow Blood Angels by dispensing justice in the name of the Emperor. Not much is known about this quiet, pious marine other than his unmatched faith, devotion and extensive battle record. As any librarian or psyker in the empire, suspicion would have been raised against the Blood Angel’s purity. Although, this has been dis-proven by his tireless hours of prayer and worship of The Emperor as a god on high. Seen in between missions in the Chapel down on one knee repeating the Index Astartes on rosary beads, this is very unusual behaviour for most marines to behold. New initiates find it particularly unusual for a librarian to behave in such a way, however, those who have spent time close to Arkio pay it little attention for it only confers his loyalty in the Astartes. Arkio shows ability and prowess beyond his years, mastering the art of basic hand to hand and exhibiting psyker abilities far surpassing those of his fellows. There are whispers and speculations amongst some of the Blood Angels that he may be the reincarnation of Sanguinius himself. Some of his Chapter brothers take offense to this, but as Arkio has never made such claims himself, they need not cast judgment on him. This did however make his training as an initiate particularly challenging, as the some elder librarians sought to test his mettle, seeking to disprove the rumors. Fortunately, they did not succeed. Some other of the Blood Angels have even been heard to say that watching Arkio in battle compares to the visions of their Primarch’s final battle with the traitor Horus, that haunt their entire chapter. He has had the exhaulted pleasure of learning under Chief Librarian Mephiston, as well as battling alongside Erasmus Tycho before he succumbed to the Black Rage against Hive Fleet Leviathan on Armageddon. Arkio has also survived to fight against Hive Fleet Leviathan again at the defense of his home-world Baal, in attempt to hold back dread bloodthirster Ka’Bhanda. Most notable of all his performances was on The Scouring of Ultramar, dispatching nearly hundreds of Xenos with the gift to destroy that he believes has been granted to him by the Emperor himself. It was there that he would meet an Ultramarine Devastator by the name of Castiel Decius. Little did they know that later they would serve together under the banner of the Deathwatch, though neither would be surprised to see the other rise to such status.
